MOTM in Action

Printing these cameos (they are mostly only 1 or 2 pages) and keeping them in numbered collections will encourage and support your teachers and students to make better use of your task set. A Cover Page (PDF file) has been added to the Task Cameos section to help you organise these prints. Add to your Cameo Collection each month.
Note: Printing in colour from a laser printer will produce an even more impressive document.
Read about these Tasks of the Month in Task Cameos in the Iceberg Information link on the left, or click on a photo to go straight to printable information about the task. Also this month we have added photos of infant students working on Task 13, The Frog Pond as a whole class investigation.
These active and engaging workshops sessions were very well received, as shown in photos below from the Swan Hill day.
Newspaper Shapes, a lesson from Maths300.
Task 166, Sphinx.
Finger Knitting, another Maths300 lesson, and Task 119, Police Line Up.
Task 45, Eric The Sheep.
...and more. Then all these rich, exciting mathematical adventures become central components in a presentation on alternative assessment practices. The latter part
of the day is devoted to at least an hour of planning to prepare a unit of work
with a parallel assessment strategy.
Participants have access to all the resources of the Task Centre, Maths300 and
Calculating Changes through MOTM CD copies of these web sites.
Assessment, Recording & Reporting in Mathematics is just one of 13 programs available from the MOTM library (see link on the left) to support school, cluster, district or systemic objectives.
Keep smiling,
Doug.
